Stunning Tote from Thrift Store Finds! Full Tutorial
Hello Shiny Crafty People!!!
I recently visited a Goodwill Thrift Store in search of an inexpensive framed canvas piece and a nice bag to turn into an art piece. Boy, did I find a great canvas!!
I spent just $18 and it’s time to create something wonderful. I hope you enjoy the adventure with me!
In this video, I used the following products you might find useful:
Rotating cutting mat: amzn.to/3Wd5vyU
Woven interfacing: amzn.to/3XS2R2M
Square cutting grid: amzn.to/4ePWMtp
I am so in love with the final tote bag! This was one of those rare times that the end result was virtually exactly what I had envisioned in the store!
I hope you take a chance with making a bag from some recycled canvas, and, unt...

Alter Any Shirt to a Smaller Size Quickly (the shortcut method)

Hello Shiny Crafty People and welcome back! Today I’m altering a baseball jersey my friend asked me to make smaller for him. He could only get it in the size XL but he really needed a medium. Now, you’ll see that I didn’t really alter the entire thing because that would have meant taking all the pieces apart and making all of them smaller and it would not have addressed the neckline being too b...

Very interesting. When I do a tote like that, I drop in the lining and sew them together at the top with a 1/4" to 1/2" seem turned under. It's easier than pulling the material through an opening 😊

Thank you for a really helpful video. I need to inset my sewing machine somehow because I find the extension table on my Janome catches the quilts and gets hooked up if I am moving it around. As a front loading bobbin I need access so some designs don’t work. My favourite thing is the stop start button. It has been a complete game changer for me. I only found out how to use from a Janome video by a young lady with multi coloured hair who I will love forever. No foot pedal after sewing for 65 years! In fact on my first computer lesson I was looking under the table and feeling around with my foot. Mary asked me what I was looking for and when I said the foot pedal , luckily as a sewist she understood. LOL🤣🍺

This is a great idea! My first thought was that sign companies may be able to print personal or copyright-free photos on canvas. My second thought was to learn to use the “posterize” feature for printing on fabric with my inkjet printer for personalized gifts. My third thought was that even two- and three-part wall decor will work just fine. Soooooo many great ideas! Thank you!

Our Goodwill stores never have sale prices anymore. Seniors only get 10% off on Thursdays--it used to be every day. They have a clearance store where they send the old merchandise to be sold by the pound. Books are often much cheaper in the store than by the pound! It's a terrible system. I once found a Jeans tote bag with my name embroidered on it, so of course, I had to buy it! I had no idea that a canvas painting could be sewn like canvas material. Duh!

NO, NO, NO, you should never switch the switch off on a power strip. That defeats the purpose of it. A power strip works to safe guard anything that’s plugged into it. If you switch it off a power surge will kill what ever is plugged into it.
